About Me
Hello,
My name is Brent Johnson, and I am honored to announce my candidacy for the Post 5 seat of Peachtree Corners City Council. I am a native of the Norcross area and when I married my wife Michelle, we planted our roots in Peachtree Corners where we have built our life for over fifteen years with two wonderful children. Caitlin is a freshman at Norcross High School and Bryce, a third grader at Simpson Elementary. Along with our dogs, Chipper and Riley, we enjoy all that Peachtree Corners has to offer for families.
As someone who values family and friends, I feel it is important to serve the community and help continue to make Peachtree Corners the ideal place to live and raise a family.
After graduating from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in risk management and insurance in 2000, I began working as an insurance broker and continue to grow my career in this field.
In my daily professional career, building personal relationships and partnering with hundreds of independent insurance agents throughout the Southeast has taught me invaluable servant leadership skills. Throughout my career, I have learned how to manage my time and build strong teams with an emphasis on respecting colleagues and clients while providing solutions and favorable outcomes.
The personal relationships I build in my professional career, my outgoing personality and experience in working with kids to build respect and team building will be relevant assets if chosen to serve as a City Councilman. I enjoy meeting new people and business partners in Peachtree Corners and am willing to listen to all ideas and options to help the community improve.
I currently serve on the NYBSA Board of Directors and the Jones Bridge Swim & Tennis Club Board. Additionally, I am an assistant coach for my son’s 9U baseball travel/development team out of Pinckneyville Park. Norcross High School provided me with educational and sports opportunities that aided me in my life and I am a longstanding member of the Norcross Touchdown Club. When I am not attending a local community event or coaching you can find me at PCBC playing adult basketball, attending sporting events, or visiting my tree farm near Manchester, GA.
It would be an honor to serve and contribute to the growth and prosperity of Peachtree Corners by participating in efforts to provide a safe community with strong opportunities in education and sports for our children.
